AMRITSAR: The police suspect the role of rival gangsters in the killing of a notorious criminal, Satnam Singh, alias Satta, whose body was found at Threawal village, falling under Majitha police station, a week ago.

Amritsar, March 18

The police suspect the role of rival gangsters in the killing of a notorious criminal, Satnam Singh, alias Satta, whose body was found at Threawal village, falling under Majitha police station, a week ago.

SSP (Amritsar rural) Parampal Singh said the police had vital clues regarding his murder by his rival gang. The police would nominate them once the preliminary probe is completed, he said.

Satta had a bullet injury in his neck. An initial probe indicated that he was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped in the village.

He was a resident of Khodde Bangar village that falls under the Fatehgarh Churian police station in Batala district. The residents informed the police about the body dumped at a secluded place in the village.

He was wanted in an attempt to murder case registered at Mehta police station here last year. A case of kidnapping and theft was registered at Fatehgarh Churian police station in April 2016. Similarly, an attempt to murder and firing incident was registered by the same police station in March 2018. Another case of attempt to murder and arms act was registered in January this year.—TNS
