Ajay Dudeja, an employee of DHFL Life Insurance Company Ltd, has accused the regional manager of defrauding him. The accused has been identified as Ashish Arora, a resident of railway link road here. No arrest has been made so far. Ashish Arora is the regional manager of the Mall road branch of the firm.
Ajay stated to the police that Ashish used to take away his BMW car (PB-02-AY-0786) a number of times. He could not refuse him as he was his boss. He said he recently came to know that the accused took loan worth Rs 15 lakh on his car from a bank located in Ranjit Avenue. He alleged that the manager of the bank also conspired in the fraud.
According to the complainant, he had purchased the car worth Rs 16 lakh on a loan from Krishna Automobiles, Ludhiana.
Gurdayal Singh, investigating officer, said a case was registered following a preliminary probe and further investigation was under way. He said they were yet to ascertain the role of the bank manager in the case. The police have registered a case under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is under way.
