‘Implement pay panel report’

AMRITSAR: The Amritsar unit of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union on Thursday submitted a memorandum of their demands to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh through the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar.

The Amritsar unit of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union on Thursday submitted a memorandum of their demands to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh through the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar. They demanded implementation of the sixth pay commission report and revival of the old pension scheme that was scrapped in 2004.

While giving details of the memorandum, union president Lakhbir Singh said, “ We have demanded that the government should implement the recommendations of sixth pay commissionand remove anomalies of previous commissions. The government must reintroduce old pension scheme in the state and give its benefits to employees who were appointed after 2004.”

The union also raised the issue of ‘equal work equal pay’ for newly appointed government employees.
