‘Jalpari’ screened at Virsa Vihar

AMRITSAR: A writer, poet, television presenter and film-maker, Jaswant Deed screened his film ‘Jalpari’ at Virsa Vihar. The Sahitya Academi award winner’s short film is based on the changing human relationships, particularly in a diasporic situation. The screening was attended by Kewal Dhaliwal and others.



Amritsar, February 18

A writer, poet, television presenter and film-maker, Jaswant Deed screened his film ‘Jalpari’ at Virsa Vihar. The Sahitya Academi award winner’s short film is based on the changing human relationships, particularly in a diasporic situation. The screening was attended by Kewal Dhaliwal and others.

While addressing the audience before the screening of the film the poet said, “‘Jalpari’ (The Mermaid), delves into changing human emotions, reactions, and instincts that effect our relationship with our system, surrounding and people around us. I have held private screening of the film for my fellow artist, literary acquaintances and received a great response.” — TNS
