Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University is all set to establish the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning on its campus.



Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University is all set to establish the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning on its campus. The decision was taken during the Syndicate meeting, which was presided over by VC Jaspal S Sandhu. The new programmes will be introduced in the university, its regional centres and its constituent colleges. Other decisions taken in the meeting are to provide seamless mobile connectivity on the campus and students are now eligible for a special chance to appear in exams to improve their grades. The Syndicate decided to award honorary degrees to Jagdish S Khehar, former Chief Justice of India, and Gen Bikram Singh (Retd), ex-Army chief, for their contribution in serving the country. Meanwhile, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has given his consent to be the chief guest at the 44th annual convocation of the university.TNS
