Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has installed flags bearing logos of its affiliated college on its premises near the office of Vice Chancellor Jaspal Singh Sandhu. The step has been taken with an objective to provide adequate representation to all educational institutes affiliated to the university. There are around 146 institutes affiliated to the university.

The colleges will take care of their logos and flags from time to time. In case a flag of a college gets damaged, the university will inform officials of that institute. According to university authorities, the motive behind such an initiative is to strengthen the relationship between the colleges and the university and also to give a new look to the institute.

Dr Sandhu said, “The idea is to beautify the university. It is aimed at having academics and aesthetics together without any kind of financial liability on the university. The idea to allow the installation of the flags being managed by their respective colleges is our way to empower them so that they feel they are an integral part of the university.”
