AMRITSAR: The Jandiala police have booked two persons for abducting a minor girl.

Amritsar, August 13

The Jandiala police have booked two persons for abducting a minor girl. The girl is said to have eloped with a boy, who allegedly promised to marry her.

The accused have been identified as Sahib Singh, a resident of Khadoor Sahib, and his sister Gurjit Kaur.

No arrest has been made so far. The victim’s mother, a resident of Khadoor Sahib, Patti Bassi Ki, Tarn Taran, complained to the police that her daughter along with 10-year-old brother Robin had left for Saint Fransis Convent School in Jandiala in school bus. At around 8.15 am she got a call from the owner of the school bus that while other children went inside the school, her daughter fled on a bike of an unknown youth. Though the driver tried to chase them, they sped away in no time.

The girl’s mother said the boy and his sister took away her daughter on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered under Sections 363, 366 A and 120-B of the IPC against the accused. The police said they were trying to trace the victim.
