The ranking of the varsity has improved from 59 in 2018 to 55 in 2019 in university category, while has jumped from 86th last year to 81st in 2019 in the overall ranking of the institutes.

The MHRD sets parameters deciding the ranking of any institutions such as teaching, research, professional practices, graduation outcomes and perception.

Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, credited this success to the hard work of the university’s teachers and students. He said without being complacent we would work even harder to improve our ranking and achieve global recognition. The university scored the lowest in perception compared to others.
