A delegation comprising 22 Non-Residents Indians (NRIs) from the United Kingdom visited Khalsa College and interacted with students and teachers on Friday.

The visit was organised under Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s “Connect with your roots (CYR)” programme, with an aim to help the young men and women become familiar with culture, heritage, education system and the way of living of the people of Punjab.

Principal Dr Mehal Singh welcomed members of the delegation and apprised them of the glorious past, vision and mission of the college and its contribution to the fields of academics, sports, culture and defence. He lauded the initiative of the Punjab Chief Minister which gave young people an opportunity to learn about their family background and culture and build an emotional bonding with the land.

The delegation visited various departments, including Sikh history and research centre of the college. The Department of Youth Welfare of the College presented the folk dance ‘bhangra’ to entertain the guests.
