Two killed, three hurt in road mishap

AMRITSAR: Two youths were killed and three others injured when their “speeding” bikes collided head-on near Gaggomahal village here yesterday evening.

Two youths were killed and three others injured when their “speeding” bikes collided head-on near Gaggomahal village here yesterday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Simarjit Singh of Daddian village and Farman Gujjar of Ballelab village located near Ravi river. The injured include Simarjit’s brother Jagroop Singh, Roshan and Deenu, both friends of Farman Gujjar.

According to the police, Simarjit, along with Jagroop, was returning to Daddian village on his bike after Diwali shopping from Gaggomahal village when their bike collided with that of Gujjar, Roshan and Deenu, who were going towards Gaggomahal village. Both the bikes were at a very high speed. Simarjit and Farman died on the spot. The injured were rushed to a hospital. Families of both the victims don’t want any action, so the police registered the incident under the criminal procedure code and handed over the bodies after postmortem examinations.

Speeding bikes

  • The youths were on two bikes which had a head-on collision near Gaggomahal village. 
  • The bikes were said to be at a very high speed, resulting in two deaths on the spot. 
  • They were out for Diwali shopping in Gaggomahal village.
