5 held with heroin, intoxicant pills

BATHINDA: The Kotwali police have arrested two persons with heroin and intoxicant tablets.

The Kotwali police have arrested two persons with heroin and intoxicant tablets. The accused had brought the heroin from New Delhi.

They have been identified as Buta Singh, a resident of Surakhpeer road, Bathinda, and Meshi Singh of Sanguana Basti.

Devender Singh, SHO of the Kotwali police station, said acting of a tip-off, a police team led by ASI Karam Singh arrested both accused from T-point on the Santpura road. The police recovered 20 gm heroin and 50 intoxicant tablets.

The SHO said accused Buta Singh had been booked nine times by the police in various cases.

During the investigation it was found that accused for earning money made under aged child addicted.

A case under Sections 21, 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Kotwali police station. The accused have been sent to judicial custody.

In another case, the Nathana police arrested a person with 22 gm of heroin from Bhaini village. The accused has been identified as Gurmail Singh, a resident of Bhaini village. He has been booked under Section 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

The Kotwali police arrested two persons with 400 intoxicant pills near the statue of Shaheed Jarnial Singh. The accused have been identified as Avtar Singh of Sanguana Basti and Ajay Kumar of Narruana road, Bathinda. The accused have been booked under the NDPS Act.
