Bhullar community to boycott Akali Dal in polls over land dispute

BATHINDA: Accusing the SAD of not resolving their long-pending land dispute in which the SGPC allegedly tried to grab religious land located on the Mehraj road in Rampura, members of the Bhullar community on Friday announced to boycott the party in the Lok Sabha elections.

Accusing the SAD of not resolving their long-pending land dispute in which the SGPC allegedly tried to grab religious land located on the Mehraj road in Rampura, members of the Bhullar community on Friday announced to boycott the party in the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Bhullar community members Surjit Singh Bhullar and Naib Singh appealed for not to vote the SAD in this Lok Sabha polls. They cleared that though they don’t support any party, they would protest against SAD candidates.

They also accused SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal of threatening them. They said a few days ago when they staged a peaceful protest at Mandi Kalan village, Sukhbir Badal had threatened them of dire consequences.

They said a community member, Balwinder Singh Khemuana, was also beaten up by SAD workers and a complaint in this regard was lodged at the Nehiawala police station. They said on Friday, they met the SSP and the DC in this regard. — TNS
