Bathinda, November 20

As per information received from a city-based NGO, an unidentified person died of cold on the Mall Godaam road.

NGO volunteers Tek Chand, Sandeep Gill and Mani Sharma said they received information that a sadhu was lying unconscious on the pavement of the Mall Godaam road.

When they reached the spot, they found that the person was not wearing enough clothes to protect him from cold and that could have led to his death.

The volunteers informed the government railway police and took the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The identity of the person is yet to be ascertained.

Despite bright sunshine experienced in the region over the past few days, the temperature has been registering a gradual decrease.

It fell to be recorded at 9.5 degree Celsius yesterday and at 7.5 degree Celsius today.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 21.5 degree Celsius on Saturday, 23 degree Celsius yesterday and 23.5 today.

As per the forecast released by the Indian Meteorological Department, the region may continue to experience similar weather accompanied by thin fog cover in the morning hours.

As per the IMD forecast, the minimum and maximum temperature in the region will be recorded around 7 and 23 degree Celsius, respectively. — TNS
