Bathinda, October 13

Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Saturday held a meeting with traders and listened to their grievances at Dhobi Bazaar and Bank Bazaar in the city.

Shopkeepers raised issues regarding encroachments on the pavements outside their shops and parking woes in the market ahead of the festival season.

Assuring the shopkeepers on their demands, the Finance Minister said, “No officer will harass you and if anyone creates any problem, let me know about it.”

He said, “The Punjab Government is promoting and providing all assistance for supporting the business community.”

Earlier during the day, at his Panchayat Bhawan office, Manpreet Badal addressed party workers and thanked them for making the Killianwali rally a success.

The Finance Minister said the development of Bathinda is my core agenda and no stone will be left unturned.

Talking about ongoing projects in the city, he said all tender works that have been initiated would be completed by April 2019.

Interacting with the media about his visit to southern states, Manpreet said “The Congress manifesto committee will be holding discussions with 42 stakeholders of society from across the country. My duty is to hold discussions on agriculture, senior citizens, freedom fighters and pensioners.”

“He will be visiting 32 places in the country for the upcoming Congress manifesto,” the Finance Minister added.

Late in the evening, the Finance Minister attended Ramlila functions at Model Town, Amrik Singh Road and Dhobiana Basti.
