SAD (Amritsar) candidate from the Bathinda Lok Sabha seat Gursewak Singh Jawaharke on Wednesday accused Dera Sacha Sauda followers of assaulting him while campaigning at Rampur Mandher village in Boha block of Mansa district.
He has lodged a complaint with the Mansa SSP, who marked the probe to the DSP.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Jawaharke said he was campaigning and seeking votes in the village at the time of the incident on Tuesday evening.
He said, “I was addressing a public meeting and was raising the issues of involvement of dera followers in sacrilege incidents and Maur bomb blast. Irked over it, some followers of Dera Sacha Sauda created a ruckus and resorted to stone pelting.”
