Bathinda, January 7

Members of the Parents Rights Association burnt an effigy of State Education Minister OP Soni for his remark on stature of government schools.

The members of the association alleged that the Education Minister had made a mockery of government schools by saying that they were like ‘dhabas’ and private schools were like five star hotels.

They added that students after studying in government schools had achieved high posts in almost every field and were serving the country.

The future of the country is in government schools and such controversial statements by the Education Minister were certainly not acceptable.

After expressing their displeasure over the alleged statement, the association members urged the Education Minister to take back his words. — TNS
