BATHINDA: A local NGO established Roti Bank to provide food to the needy in the city. Members of the NGO, Sahara Welfare Society, urged the city residents not to waste the food left after parties, such as birthday celebrations, marriages or other functions and instead provide it to them so that it could be utilised for a noble cause.

A local NGO established Roti Bank to provide food to the needy in the city. Members of the NGO, Sahara Welfare Society, urged the city residents not to waste the food left after parties, such as birthday celebrations, marriages or other functions and instead provide it to them so that it could be utilised for a noble cause.

Vijay Goyal, president of the NGO, said, “It is an effort to provide food to the poor and needy people. If there is food left after a marriage, birthday party or any other event, instead of throwing it, people can contact us. The food collection time is from 8 am till 9 pm and stale food will not be accepted. Those interested in providing food can contact at Sahara Welfare Society’s office at Dhobi Bazaar or call at these mobile numbers: 98551-33333 or 96462-00100.”
