Sky remains overcast, temperature dips

BATHINDA: Overcast conditions, coupled with cold winds, made the temperature dip by several degrees.

Bathinda, February 11

Overcast conditions, coupled with cold winds, made the temperature dip by several degrees. As per the Agri-Met Department of the regional centre of PAU, the day became colder as the maximum temperature dipped by four degrees.

While yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.5 degree Celsius, it was recorded at 17.5 degree Celsius today.

Due to overcast conditions and cloud cover, the night temperature didn’t register much change and increased a little from yesterday’s 4.6 degree Celsius to be recorded at 5 degree Celsius today.

It was, however, the cold winds that made residents sit inside their homes and not venture out much. Today, the winds blew at a velocity of 2.6 kmph.

As per the forecast released by the department, similar weather may prevail over the next two days as light to moderate rain is likely at some places in Punjab during February 11 and 13.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Northern parts of the state while thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm is also likely at isolated places during this period. — TNS
