Two inmates were released on probation during a camp court organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in the Central Jail here today. The under trials, who were willing to confess to their crime, were also heard by the court.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Mandeep Mittal was present at the camp court. Some of the inmates complained that their challans were not being presented and some stated that they had been in the jail for more than two months for minor offences. Manjeet Singh, Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail, Bathinda, was also present.

The CJM addressed the jail inmates and asked them to give in writing their complaints with complete details. The data would be prepared and their problems would be sorted out within the scope of rules, he said. The convicts were asked to take the help of paralegal volunteers for jotting down their problems, particularly for taking free legal aid.
