NTPC Q1 profit down 3% to Rs 2,135 cr

NEW DELHI: NTPC today posted Rs 2,135.35 crore standalone profit, down about 3%, for the quarter ended on June 30, mainly on account of low demand of electricity. The total income decreased from Rs 18,869.31 crore for the quarter ended June 30, last fiscal, to Rs 17,323.30 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015-16.

The total income decreased from Rs 18,869.31 crore for the quarter ended June 30, last fiscal, to Rs 17,323.30 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015-16.

ITC Q1 net up 3.61% at Rs 2,265 cr

ITC Ltd on Thursday posted a subdued 3.61% rise in net profit at Rs 2,265.44 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, due to pressure on cigarette sales and sluggish demand for other FMCG products.

Net sales of the company, however declined 7.18% to Rs 8,505.53 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs 9,164.42 crore during June quarter of the previous fiscal.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Q1 net falls 26%

Kotak Mahindra Bank on Thursday reported 25.8% decline in net profit at Rs 516.57 crore for the first quarter ended June 2015 on account of higher provisioning for bad loans.

However, total income increased to Rs 6,384.63 crore in the April-June quarter from Rs 5,006.63 crore in the same period of last fiscal. PTI
