NFL Panipat unit has been awarded National Safety Award (“First Prize” and “Second Prize”) by Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, for the year 2015. The first prize has been conferred in the category of chemicals and chemical factories for minimum average recurrence rate and second prize for accident-free year. The award was presented by Minister of State for Labour & Employment Santosh Gangwar to SK Jindal, Executive Director, NFL, at a function held on September 17.

State-of-the-art footwear technology and advanced foot biomechanics have been employed in crafting these shoes. The footbed consists of massage nodules, shaped and graded to the contour of the foot for comfort, stimulation and support. 

BHEL employees felicitated

Among a host of public and private sector companies, BHEL employees have bagged the maximum number of 'Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskars' for 2015. The BHEL employees won 15 out of 28 Vishwakarma awards. This is the highest number of awards ever won by any organisation in the country. In addition, six 'National Safety Awards' have also been awarded to BHEL’s Trichy unit for outstanding achievement in terms of the longest accident-free period and lowest accident frequency rate. The awards were presented by Minister of State, Labour & Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar at a function held in New Delhi.

NHPC Director honoured

Nikhil Kumar Jain, Director (Personnel), NHPC, has been conferred with HR Leadership Award at 16th Edition of Asia Pacific HRM Congress and Awards presented by Times Ascent. The award was presented for his outstanding contribution in HR domain for organisational development to build itself into the fabric of the business, embracing change and contributing value. The award was presented at Bengaluru on September 19.

AP Organics wins ‘First Award’ 

AP Organics Ltd., a Ricela Group company, has been conferred with “First Award” for being the highest exporter of refined rice bran oil during the year 2016-17.  Ricela Health Foods Limited, the flagship company of the Group, has also been conferred with the “First Award” for being the highest producer of refined rice bran oil during the year. Dr AR Sharma, Chairman of Ricela Group, received these awards from Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, Minister for Plantation Industries and Commodities, Malaysia, at the 46th SEA AGM held in Mumbai recently.

NITTTR workshop at Bathinda

A one-week faculty development programme on "Entrepreneurial Development" was conducted at GZSCCET, Bathinda from September 18 to 22. The programme was organised by NITTTR, Chandigarh. The aim of the programme was to impart entrepreneurial and self-employment education among the campus faculty so that they could extend help to their students to become entrepreneurs.

Seminar on ‘Tiscon Readybuild’

Tata Tiscon organised a seminar to promote “Tiscon Readybuild” brand of Tata Steel in association with Krishna Business Associates in Ludhiana on September 22. Puneet  Roy of Tata Steel  explained  the usefulness of Readybuild products and services. The seminar was attended by renowned builders and contractors along with officials from government departments such as Railways, CPWD and PWD, among others. 

Arkansas varsity, LPU in tie-up

Arkansas State University of the US and Lovely Professional University (LPU) have signed an MoU to work together in the areas of hotel management, engineering, business management for exchange programmes. Under the agreement, LPU students visiting A-State University will not have to pay fee for the studies there for the stipulated semesters. Similarly, A-State students will also be able to get education without any fee at LPU campus.

MS faculty empowerment 

Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology, Bathinda, organised a two-day Microsoft's Faculty Empowerment Programme "SAKSHAM - IT Champion Training Program" from September 18 to 19 on its campus. Thirty participants from the constituent and affiliated colleges of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University attended the programme. Mr Kaushik from Microsoft educated the participants on the use of Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office 2016. He explained several new features and provided deep insights into the usage of the software.
