13 challaned for using pressure horns

ROPAR: A team of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, along with the Traffic Police, issued challans to vehicles for using pressure horns in a drive against noise pollution.

A team of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, along with the Traffic Police, issued challans to vehicles for using pressure horns in a drive against noise pollution.

PPCB XEN SS Matharu said the drive was conducted as part of the Tandarust Punjab campaign initiated by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

He said the drive to check noise pollution was started recently. Till now, 13 challans had been issued to motorists for using pressure horns here.

Today, over 20 buses and trucks were checked at Ajauli Mor of Anandpur Sahib where two challans were issued and pressure horns were removed from two buses. He said the objective of the drive was to check noise pollution. The drive would continue in the district in future also. — TNS
