Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s roadshow drew an average response from local residents today.

The roadshow began with a delay of almost two hours against its scheduled time (11 am) from Phase 11 as Sisodia reached late. “Sisodia got late as he was engaged in some programme at Chandigarh,” said a party worker.

Sisodia was in the town to campaign for the party candidate from Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, Narinder Singh Shergill.

The roadshow, which started from Mohali, culminated at Sri Anandpur Sahib while passing through several parts of the constituency, including Kharar, Kurali, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib, Kathgarh, Ropar, Balachaur, Nawanshahr, Banga and Garhshankar.

AAP leaders termed the event ‘very successful’.

Sisodia said the traditional political parties had been exploiting poor, farmers, labourers, traders and other sections of the society.

“We have been focusing mainly on education and health,” said Sisodia. Shergill said the party was committed to working for the welfare of the people of Punjab the way it did in Delhi. — TNS
