Chandigarh, February 21

Bhav Karan Singh and Joginder Randhawa qualified for the National Finals of the Mercedes Trophy at the Panchkula Golf Course.

Karan and Randhawa confirmed their spots by carding a score of 71.4 (Category A) and 73.2 (Category B), respectively, in the Chandigarh leg qualifier. The best gross winner of the day was Raman Kumar with a round of 78. Ashish Chauhan (290 yards) emerged winner in the longest drive challenge. Tajinder Singh Rihal and LM Goyal won the closest-to-pin contest. Vaneet Khosla won the straightest drive contest. The event was played on double Peoria format.  A total of 103 golfers took part in the competition on the opening day. Pune will host the National Finals at the Oxford Golf Resort from April 4 to 6.
