Zirakpur: After investigating a complaint filed by a woman, the police on Monday booked her husband and mother-in-law for dowry harassment.



Zirakpur: After investigating a complaint filed by a woman, the police on Monday booked her husband and mother-in-law for dowry harassment. In her complaint, the victim, Gurmeet Kaur of Baltana, had stated that she got married to Raghuvir Singh, a resident of Naraingarh in 2009. She alleged that soon after marriage, her husband and mother-in-law started torturing her. She was told to bring more dowry. She alleged that she had been assaulted and constantly abused by her in-laws. OC

Man killed in road mishap

Kharar: Roshan Lal, who was working in a brick kiln at nearby Jandpur village, died after the tractor-trailer he was traveling in, suddenly overturned.  The victim belonged to Uttar Pradesh. SI Harpal Singh of the Kharar Sardar police said Kuldeep Singh was driving the tractor-trailer and they were going to Jandpur village from the brick kiln. The police have carried out proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. OC

Hit by train, 35-yr-old dies

Kharar: A man was killed after being hit by a train near Tolemajra village on Sunday. As per information, nearly 35-year-old man was hit by a train on the Kharar-Mohali railway track. Kharar Railway police post in-charge Jagdev Singh said he was hit by a train going from Nangal to Delhi. His body has been kept at the Civil Hospital, Kharar, for identification. OC
