The Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Bedi on Monday said that the state government would constitute special teams to keep the drug abuse at bay and the process in this direction had started. He was speaking on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse at Panchayat Bhawan in Ambala city.

Bedi said, “The drug abuse is rampant across the world and it has badly affected a prosperous state like Punjab. However, the situation is very much in control in Haryana. Nevertheless, special teams would be constituted to deal with the drug abuse.

While the police will keep a vigil on drug peddlers and deal with them strictly, social organisations will make people aware regarding it.” He called upon the youth to stay away from drugs and also to motivate others.
