Guv lays stone for CHB block, new secretariat

CHANDIGARH: VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, laid the foundation stone of Block B at the Chandigarh Housing Board office in Sector 9 today.

VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, laid the foundation stone of Block B at the Chandigarh Housing Board office in Sector 9 today. It will be a seven-storey building on 1,31,620 sq ft. It will have a basement measuring 41, 972 sq ft.

He also performed the ground-breaking ceremony for a seven-storey new secretariat building in Sector 9. The building will have offices for the UT Administrator, Adviser to the Administrator, Finance Secretary, Home Secretary and all other departments of the Chandigarh Administration.

The building will be constructed at Rs 49.7 crore. The building will be energy-efficient. The project has been designed to achieve the five star green rating under the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment.”

AK Gupta, Principle Secretary, Home; AK Sinha, Finance Secretary; and K K Yadav, Municipal Commissioner,Chandigarh, were present on the occasion.
