Int’l alumni meet at PU next year

CHANDIGARH: The first meeting of the executive council of the Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA) was held today.

The first meeting of the executive council of the Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA) was held today. It was decided in the meeting to have an international alumni meet early next year.

Professor Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor (VC), PU, chaired today’s meeting. He is also president of the PU Alumni Association (PUAA).

The VC urged members to strengthen the ties between the alumi and the PU. It was decided that the alumni association will work vigorously towards increasing the membership base and opening of alumni chapters in the major cities of India and various countries.

Earlier, Dean, Alumni Relations, Prof Deepti Gupta, initiated discussions by informing about the PUAA and congratulated Prof Anil Monga on the completion of his successful tenure.

The executive council deliberated on the proactive engagement of the alumni association with students. It was also decided to encourage student interns to work for alumni association in the meeting.

The executive discussed planning a full calendar of activities in the coming year to encourage greater alumni participation.
