Int’l flights land late

MOHALI: As many as four flights were cancelled — three for poor visibility due to dense fog and one for technical snag — and around 20 flights, including two flights from Dubai and Bangkok, got delayed today.

As many as four flights were cancelled — three for poor visibility due to dense fog and one for technical snag — and around 20 flights, including two flights from Dubai and Bangkok, got delayed today.

According to a CHIAL official, the flight operations started at the airport at 12.15 pm today when the first flight landed here. The official added that usually, the first flight lands at the airport at 7.30 am. “The weather conditions improved only at around 12 noon,” he said.

The flight from Bangkok arrived late by around three hours today while flight from Dubai landed 2.15 hours late. While Dubai flight departed 30 minutes late, flight to Bangkok took off at the scheduled time.  Earlier, dense fog resulted in cancellation of three flights of Chandigarh-Delhi-Chandigarh today whereas the Air India Chandigarh-Leh flight had to be cancelled following a technical snag.

IndiGo cancels Delhi-Chd flight

The IndiGo flight 545/455 Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi has been cancelled for January 3 and 4 due to bad weather. SpiceJet flight (SG 2834) will depart from Chandigarh at 2.15 pm instead of its scheduled departure at 8.40 am on January 3.
