DERA BASSI: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers and anti-social elements, the CIA-II, Mubarikpur, along with the local police, arrested four persons and recovered 200 grams of heroin from their possession on Tuesday.

Continuing its drive against drug peddlers and anti-social elements, the CIA-II, Mubarikpur, along with the local police, arrested four persons and recovered 200 grams of heroin from their possession on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Karnail Singh, a resident of Pinjore, Vinay Thakur, Devinder Singh, both residents of Kalka, and Puneet Kumar, a resident of Patiala.

Giving details, CIA-II, Mubarikpur, Incharge Parkash Masihi said on a tip-off, a police team laid a naka near the Mubarikpur-Ramgarh stretch here on Tuesday evening. A Swift car, which was coming towards the Mubarikpur side and having the accused in it, was signalled to stop.

On checking, the police team recovered 200 grams of heroin from the car.

All four occupants of the car were arrested after a case under the NDPS Act was registered against them at the Mubarikpur police post.

The accused were produced in court, which sent them to one-day police remand.
