Paddlers Aryan, Hitesh triumph on opening day

CHANDIGARH:Aryan Raj of Asha School, Chandimandir, topped the podium in the M01 Division on the opening day of the Special Olympics Bharat Table Tennis Championship here today.

Aryan Raj of Asha School, Chandimandir, topped the podium in the M01 Division on the opening day of the Special Olympics Bharat Table Tennis Championship here today. 

He was followed by Shivam Kansal of Astha School, Mohali, in second position, while Pulkit Saini of Bhavan Vidyalaya finished third. Prabhash Yadav of Umeed Asha Kiran bagged the fourth position. 

In M02 Division, Hitesh Sachdeva of Bhavan Vidyalaya bagged the first position, while Supreet Chaudhary of SOREM, Sector 36, occupied the second spot. Digvijay Dhiman of Bhavan Vidyalaya ended in third place.

Hemant Bajaj of Bhavan Vidyalaya aced the M03 Division. Prateek Sabharwal of SOREM, Sector 36, and Nehal Sharma of Sadhana School, Mani Majra, claimed the second and third positions, respectively. Gurpreet Singh of GRIID, Sector 31, finished fourth, while Radhay Shyam of Sadhana School secured the fifth position. 

In M06 Division, Hardik Pahwa of Bhavan Vidyalaya won the gold medal, while Hemant Gupta and Kartik, both from GRIID, Sector 31, claimed the silver and bronze medals, respectively. 

A total of 37 special athletes from various institutions competed on the first day of the championship.
