PANCHKULA: Out of the 2,545 cases taken up for hearing, 686 cases involving an amount of Rs 22,81,971 were settled through mutual compromise between parties at the National Lok Adalat held in Panchkula.

Out of the 2,545 cases taken up for hearing, 686 cases involving an amount of Rs 22,81,971 were settled through mutual compromise between parties at the National Lok Adalat held in Panchkula.

Vivek Goyal, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula, said a total of 2,545 cases were taken up. Of them, 686 cases, including criminal, 138 Negotiable Instruments Act, MACT, matrimonial disputes, civil, traffic challan, bank recovery, telecom and summary cases, were disposed of.

Goyal said four Benches, including one at Kalka sub-division and one of the PLA (PUS), Panchkula, were constituted which were presided over by Ritu Garg, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Monika Jangra, Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class), CL Kochhar, Chairman, PLA (PUS), and Rekha Chaudhary, Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class), Kalka. Parmod Goyal, learned Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority, Panchkula, was also present.

1,825 cases taken up in Ropar

Ropar: A total of 651 cases were disposed of in the National Lok Adalat held here on Saturday. A total of 15 Benches were set up in Ropar Sessions Division. A total of 1,825 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat. Administrative Judge of the Ropar Sessions Division and Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Augustine George Masih also visited the District Courts complex. An amount of Rs 15,26,64,980 was settled in the 651 cases disposed of on the occasion. TNS
