CHANDIGARH: Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar launched newly designed website of the Department of Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) here on Wednesday.

Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar launched newly designed website of the Department of Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) here on Wednesday.

Prof SK Mehta, Director, SAIF, said the website, onlinesaif.puchd.ac.in, had been prepared after months of hard work and dedication by SAIF staff with the help of Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi.

He said the aim was to provide the students an easier way to know about SAIF services and also to allow the students to browse information based on their own choice.

The website is interactive and gives better access, service charges, online registration for sample submission, upcoming instruments and seminars/workshops’ details.

Mehta said among the new features, the site contained online registration for sample submission and current status for instruments to foster improved communication with the students and additionally the users would know the status of sample and download the e-bill.

Prof MM Gupta, Prof Rajat Sandhir, Prof Rupinder Tewari, Prof Sanjeev Puri, Prof Devinder Singh and Dr Prashant Gautam were present during the website launched.
