St. Kabir School, Sector 26, will face Delhi Public School, Sector 40, in the Brother Mc Cann U-14 Inter-School Cricket Tournament final at St. John’s High School, Sector 26, here on Tuesday. 

In the semifinals today, St. Kabir beat hosts St. John’s High School by 24 runs, while Delhi Public School (DPS) registered a five-wicket win over Saluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula.

Batting first, St. Kabir School managed a below par 103/7 in 20 overs. Arjun was the only batsman to show some form as he scored 37 runs to push the side past-100 run mark. Tanmay contributed 18 runs to the total. For the hosts, Mudit claimed 3/11. 

With a small total defend, St. Kabir bowlers fired in unison to bundle out St. John’s for just 79 runs in 17.3 overs.  

Nishvak claimed 3/11, while Arjun (2/10), Shaurya (2/20) and Bhanu (2/16) bagged a couple of wickets each to help the side book a berth in the final.

DPS boys, meanwhile, restricted Satluj Public School to a paltry 87/9 after the side opted to bat. 

Tejveer returned with figures of 3/17, while Tejaswar (2/5) and Nipun (2/23) claimed two wickets apiece.  For Satluj, Saksham Thakur scored 25 runs, while Inder Sharma chipped in with 15 runs. 

In reply, DPS reached home in 17.4 overs with five wickets to spare. Aryaman contributed 27 runs to the chase while Waash Pratap made a useful 15. For Satluj, Vishal claimed 3/24.

Nehal powers Satluj to 45-run victory

Meanwhile, in the last league match of the U-17 category here today, Satluj Public School beat Saupin’s School, Sector 32, by 45 runs. 

Bating first, Satluj School made a fighting 155/3 in 20 overs with skipper Nehal Pajni smashing 91 runs off 70 balls, including 10 boundaries and two sixes. He was well supported by Sukhrajbir Gill, who contributed 37 runs to the total. 

In reply, Saupin’s School could manage only 110/6 in 20 overs.
