The police have registered a murder case against two brothers after a man alleged that one of them misbehaved with his wife and later killed his father.
The suspects have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Varinder Singh of Passiana. In his complaint, Amandeep Singh of Rajgarh village in Passiana said the one of the suspects, who were his cousins, misbehaved with his wife.
Amandeep said: “On Wednesday evening, Gurpreet approached my wife and started misbehaving with her. Later, he tried to forcibly take her into his house when my father intervened. Meanwhile, his brother came and hit my father on his head with a blunt household object.”
He said his father later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh.
The police have registered a case against the suspects under Sections 302 (murder), 354 (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.
