Domestic passengers travelling from Terminal 2 at the IGI Airport is set to be hassle-free with the introduction of express security check facility. The decision has been taken by the GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), in collaboration with the CISF.

This facility will enable domestic passengers travelling without check-in baggage to head straight towards the boarding area without getting into the check-in area.

This facility will significantly reduce the load on the main security check-in area by diverting passengers carrying only hand baggage towards express lane. It will ensure fast and seamless flow of the domestic passengers travelling without any check-in baggage.

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO-DIAL, said: “This is a step forward towards our commitment to provide comfort and ensure convenience to our passengers for a hassle-free travel experience. We will gradually extend the facility to T1 and T3. The CISF has played a vital role in supporting the implementation of this facility.”

The airport has earmarked a dedicated space at terminal entry point of departure level for the new express check-in facility.

The pre-embarkation security check will happen immediately after the terminal’s entry gate. Domestic passengers, after printing boarding pass from the newly installed ‘self-service kiosks’ or the web check-in located at the departures forecourt area outside the terminal building, can enter the express security check lane without getting into the check-in area and head straight towards the boarding area.

Passengers, particularly frequent flyers such as government officials, business, and corporate travellers will benefit from the facility.

Figure this!

45,000  domestic travellers at T2 daily

13,000  travel without check-in baggage
