With an aim to address the concerns and doubts of the trader community of Delhi pertaining to the upcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will address them live through Facebook tomorrow evening from 6 to 7 pm.

During an hour-long session, Sisodia will also take questions from the traders and consumers and the government is understood to be flooded with queries with people from all over the city calling in to get details about the Facebook Live on the GST.

“This initiative is primarily aimed at about three lakh traders’ fraternity of Delhi. The GST team and the Deputy CM himself have been inundated with questions on the GST and it is anticipated that the last 24 hours will be most critical, with thousands of questions pouring in,” read a statement issued by the government.

The questions for Sisodia can be posted at [email protected] before the event and at the Facebook page www.facebook.com/DelhiGovernment during the FB live.

Last month, the Delhi Assembly passed the state Goods and Services Tax Bill, 2017, even as the Aam Aadmi Party government has called for a maximum “10 per cent” tax under the new tax regime which is supposed to end multiple indirect taxes.

The House also adopted a resolution contending that higher tax rates never return higher collections to the government exchequer instead lead to “inflation and tax evasion”.
