2 held for snatching mobiles

CHANDIGARH: In two separate incidents, two snatchers were caught while snatching mobile phones from different parts of the city.

In two separate incidents, two snatchers were caught while snatching mobile phones from different parts of the city.

According to the police, Ram Bahadur, a resident of Hallo Majra village who works at an electricity shop in the Sector 19 booth market, was walking down the road when a pedestrian snatched his mobile near the PWD office, Haryana, in Sector 19 and tried to flee from the spot.

The complainant, along with his friend, managed to nab the person, who has been identified as Rajinder, a resident of Sector 21, Chandigarh. The police were informed about the incident following which they arrived at the spot and arrested the person.

In another incident, Sachin Kumar, a cab driver and resident of Chandimandir, said he was sitting in the car and talking on the mobile phone near the road dividing Sectors 52 and 61 when a pedestrian came from the rear side and snatched his mobile. The complainant ran behind the person and nabbed him. The suspect has been identified as Ajay, a resident of Teen Colony, Sector 52. The police arrested the accused from the spot. The police have registered seperate cases.
