Chandigarh, October 3

The AAP campaign committee tonight recommended 180 probables for 35 Assembly seats.

Former Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira and Punjab Dialogue team head Kanwar Sandhu are the frontrunners from the Bholath and Kharar seats, respectively. A majority of the other probables are young volunteers.

The party has already declared the candidates for 32 seats. The first two lists had kicked up a row.

Party sources said the 18-member campaign committee headed by MP Bhagwant Mann met here this evening. After three-hour-long deliberations, the names were recommended to the selection committee. The final selection will be made by the political affairs committee headed by national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, several leaders of the SAD-BJP and the Congress joined AAP in the presence of Sanjay Singh and state convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich.

Those who joined AAP included Brick Kiln Association of Punjab president HS Sekhon and general secretary Surinder Singla.
