Jammu, April 25

After getting a “discouraging” feedback about the performance of party ministers in the coalition, the BJP high command has asked party nominees in the coalition to prepare reports of their achievements.

The reports will be presented before party national president Amit Shah, who will be in Jammu for two days to review the performance of the government and the party functioning.

Shah is visiting Jammu for the first time after the formation of the coalition government in 2015. He will reach Jammu on April 29 and leave for Delhi on May 1 morning.

“Besides interacting with party ministers and senior leaders, Shah is also going to hold direct interaction with the district presidents of the party to get authentic feedback about the performance of the coalition,” a source said, adding, “It is the first time that the national president is holding exclusive talks with the district presidents.”

“Shah is likely to convene an exclusive meeting of the BJP ministers to review their performance,” a source said, adding that the high command has not received an encouraging response about the working of party ministers in the coalition government.

During the recent visit of party’s national vice-president and parliamentarian Avinash Rai Khanna, some leaders had expressed their anger against the functioning of the party ministers. The leaders had alleged that BJP ministers had become inaccessible to the workers and people.

As per the itinerary prepared by the local BJP unit, Amit Shah will also interact with prominent citizens of Jammu on Saturday evening. He will seek feedback from them about the performance of the coalition in general and the BJP ministers in particular.

A closed-door meeting of the party’s core group will also be held on Saturday to review the prevailing situation in the state, particularly in the Kashmir valley.

Highly placed sources said that on Sunday morning, Amit Shah would participate in the meeting of the Sangh Parivar in which representatives of all offshoots of the RSS would participate.

The meeting is significant as many organisations affiliated to the Sangh Parivar have registered protests against the functioning of the coalition, especially against the approach of the government in dealing with separatists and stone-throwers.
