People face tough time in Karnal

Residents had a tough time while exchanging currency in Karnal. They had to stand in long queues for hours outside banks and ATMs. Several ATMs ran dry by the afternoon. There were arguments  at various banks and outside ATMs due to chaos.

Local resident Puneet Kathuria said many banks were refusing customers by saying the facility  to exchange Rs 4,000 could be availed of once a week. Banks should keep ATMs full so that account holders could withdraw money anytime, said Dinesh Kumar of Taraori.
