‘Malviya played key role in freedom struggle’

DEHRADUN: Pt Madan Mohan Malviya played an important role in the freedom struggle of the country.

Pt Madan Mohan Malviya played an important role in the freedom struggle of the country.

This was stated at Malviya’s 154th birth anniversary observed by the Kashi Hindu Vishvavidyalaya Prachin Chatra (KHVVPC) Samiti at Hindu National (HN) College today.

Dr US Rawat, Vice-Chancellor of Shridev Suman University, was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof SP Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Ayurvedic Vishvavidyalaya, was the guest of honour.

Prof Rawat said Madan Mohan Malviya was a visionary, who played a key role in the freedom struggle and laid the foundation of Kashi Hindu Vishvavidyalaya. He asked students to work hard and make a right career choice.

Dr Rawat said books would be donated to poor students of Hindu National College.

Prof Mishra threw light on the life of Malviya and exhorted students to follow in his footsteps.

The samiti would donate 100 utensils and sweaters for poor students of the college. Dr Seema Rastogi, Murli Dhar Jagudi, Jharna Banerji and Visharad presented bhajans.

Patron Dr RN Singh, Dr Saraswati Singh and Dr Soni expressed their views.

Dr Saurabh Juneja, patron Col KN Rai and senior members promised help to needy students of the college.

Member of the samiti Praveen Jain, Principal Satpal Negi, RD Singh and other staff members attended the programme.
