The Border Security Force has said that it is taking all measures to prevent infiltration into the Valley by militants from across the border.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the passing-out parade of 333 recruits at the Subsidiary Training Centre in Humhama near the city today, Inspector General of the BSF, Kashmir Frontier, P S Sandhu said the militants’ infrastructure across the border was intact. Without giving any figures, the IG said the number of militants at the training camps across the border had not decreased. The BSF was vigilant and taking all measures to foil infiltration attempts, he added.

The IG said the fresh recruits, during their training period, had contributed to the rescue and relief measures of the flood-hit in September last year. He said the recruits provided food and shelter facilities to the flood-affected and played a vital role in providing assistance to the needy.

Earlier, the IG took salute at the passing-out parade of 333 recruits, who successfully completed 44 weeks of rigorous training. Addressing the recruits, the IG congratulated them on the excellent parade and wished them good luck for the future.
