Centre-funded fitness training centre soon

DEHRADUN: The K11 Academy of Fitness Sciences will inaugurate its first centre in north India funded by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and regulated by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The K11 Academy of Fitness Sciences will inaugurate its first centre in north India funded by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and regulated by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The centre will offer career opportunities to the state youth keen on becoming qualified personal trainers. Youths in the state are recognised for their affinity towards qualified vocational courses that primarily focus on physical fitness. The state continues to contribute a sizeable workforce to the Army, Air Force and the Navy as well as Merchant Navy and paramilitary forces. Seminars will be held in leading cities to educate youth on importance of physical fitness education.

Based in New Delhi, the north India centre of the K11 will offer various courses to students above 18 in the area of fitness training like personal trainer, personal trainer for special population, gym management, master trainer, sports nutrition and massage therapy. The average term of these courses is three months. Students will get certificates after completion of the courses.

The institute has started the registration process for various courses offered at its New Delhi centre located in Karol Bagh.

The institute claims to have been the only organisation in the fitness industry of the country to have attracted NSDC’s funding commitment of Rs 8 crore for opening centres across the country. K11 has already received the first tranche of Rs 1 crore from the NSDC.

“We are committed to the mandate given by the NSDC to advance skill and facilitate employment for more than 54,000 youngsters by 2022,” said Kaizzad Capadia, director of the K11 Academy of Fitness Sciences.
