Energy audit conducted at Doon Raj Bhawan

Governor Dr KK Paul today said the energy audit of Raj Bhawan, Dehradun, had been done and it would help detect how much energy was being used in Raj Bhawan and what is the resulting carbon footprint.

Dr KK Paul stated this after planting a number of tree saplings at Raj Bhawan as part of the Harela celebrations. Dr Paul reminded that Uttarakhand’s Chipko movement that stood as one of biggest mass movements to protect trees was showing the way of environment protection to the country till today.

He said the recently conducted energy audit at Raj Bhawan had revealed how much energy was being used through electricity and air conditioners and other power equipments at Raj Bhawan.

“To balance the carbon footprint resulting from this, plantations were being done which would be protected properly,” he said.

Referring to Harela, Governor, who planted a coloured species of mango, said Harela was a cultural festival that had great significance in the context of environment protection. As many as 53 saplings were planted at Raj Bhawan today and 300 more would be planted in this month.
