House construction material to homeless

MUSSOORIE: Members of the Deendayal Upadyay Yuva Vichar Samiti, celebrating their sixth foundation day, presented more than 70 homeless families from 12 villages of the Mussoorie constituency tin shed and other building construction material here today.

Members of the Deendayal Upadyay Yuva Vichar Samiti, celebrating their sixth foundation day, presented more than 70 homeless families from 12 villages of the Mussoorie constituency tin shed and other building construction material here today.

Anuj Kaushal, president of the samiti, said it had been involved in various social activities from the very first day of formation in 2011. He said so far the samiti had constructed more than 12 houses for the poor and natural disaster survivors.

The samiti had organised 30 health camps and presented wheelchairs to needy persons. More than 500 poor and marginalised students had been presented with scholarships to carry forward with their study, added Kaushal.

Renowned industrialist and social figure S Farooq was present on the occasion as chief guest. Addressing the gathering he said the Deendayal Upadyay Yuva Vichar Samiti celebrated their foundation day in a simple way that was the reason he was here.

More than 70 villagers from Chandmari, Jaintanwala, Johri, Kyara, Chamroli, Sarkhet, Nayagaun, Chalang, Nangal, Pathariyapeer, Rajendra Nagar and Gangaol Panditwari villages were presented with building construction material.

Former Minister of State Chaman Lal Balmiki, Anuj Kausal, Poonam Nautiyal, RS Panwar, Bhupendra Solanki, Neha Joshi, Babita Sahrotra, Bhupendra Kathait, Nandini Sharma, Surendra Rana, Anil Dabral and Sandhya Thapa were present at the occasion.
