Irked over the inconvenience caused due to the blunder committed by the Panchkula Municipal Corporation in house tax calculation, the Citizens’ Welfare Association has written to Chief Minister Manohal Lal Khattar, seeking his intervention. Almost all city residents have received wrong bills, forcing them to visit the MC office for correction.
Moreover, the residents are not only receiving hefty bills, already paid tax has also not been deducted from the new bills. Owners of six marla houses have reportedly received bills for eight marla houses.
The association has demanded that the Minicipal Corporation stop issuing wrong bills and verify its records first before sending these to city resident.
In addition to it, many resident may miss 25 per cent rebate given by the government as the bills have not been sent to them till now.
They have also demanded that the deadline to file the returns be extended two to three months for the convenience of the resident.
