Screen shot: Niti Taylor

Niti Taylor, who debuted on television with the show Pyaar Ka Bandhan, is playing the lead role in Life OK’s new show Ghulaam. Quite excited about the show, she shares her experiences.

What made you take up the show?

It is a different show and I am really looking forward to it.The ethics and work culture is quite different and I am getting into the groove. Apart from an author-backed role, I have been blessed with a great cast and crew. This is going to be a great opportunity.

What is your role like?

She is a docile, shy girl who moves to Delhi to study and is alarmed by the congestion. She is always suspicious. And when one day she lands up in Berahampur, all hell breaks loose! How she manages to keep her stand in the crime capital would be fascinating to watch. The different shades and situations of Shivani attracted me to the role.

How did you prepare for the role?

I did not have to prepare myself physically, but mentally I had to as with this role I had to break away from the image viewers have of me from my previous show, which was a youth-centric and a light-hearted show. However, with Ghulaam, everyone’s perception of me will change.

How do you handle controversies surrounding an actor’s life?

I try keeping away from social media to keep rumours and gossips at bay. And once in a while, when I just cannot handle it anymore, I react. Otherwise, I just ignore it as I do not want to fuel it further.

How do you think your fans will react to Ghulaam?

They will go crazy, trust me. The role is a wonderful one.
