Man injured in explosion in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A 27-year-old man has been injured in an explosion in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said on Monday.



Srinagar, May 2

A 27-year-old man has been injured in an explosion in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said on Monday.

Reyaz Ahmad Khan is believed to have found a grenade near a stream at Diver in Kupwara district this morning, a police official said.

When Khan started fiddling with the object, it went off, resulting in injuries to him, the official said.

He said the injured person was first taken to Kupwara district hospital from where he was referred to a hospital here for treatment. — PTI
