Ministers get bail in 7-year-old case

DEHRADUN: Three Cabinet ministers and a Rajya Sabha MP appeared before a CJM court in a seven-year-old case here today.

Three Cabinet ministers and a Rajya Sabha MP appeared before a CJM court in a seven-year-old case here today.

The court granted bail to Cabinet ministers Yashpal Arya, Preetam Singh and Dinesh Agarwal and Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta.

A case was registered against the four for creating a ruckus during an agitation near the Vidhan Sabha on December 21, 2009. The leaders had clashed with the police deployed during the protest.

The case was registered against 24 politicians, including Harak Singh Rawat, Yashpal Arya and Dinesh Agarwal, MLAs Preetam Singh, Heera Singh Bisht, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay, Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta, Subodh Uniyal, Kunwar Pranav Singh, Lalchand Sharma, Mahesh Sharma and Vinod Rawat. — TNS
